Ghazni crime branch chief gunned down by motorcyclists

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Unknown gunmen shot dead the crime branch chief of southern Ghazni province on Thursday morning, an official said.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the shooting took place at 8am in the provincial capital.

He said no one had been arrested so far in connection with the incident, but police had launched a manhunt for the killers.

Eyewitness Nasrullah said the murder happened in front of Khwaja Ali School near crime branch building. Hamid Wadan was gunned down by two motorcyclists.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Separately, an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was shot dead in Ghazni City, where targeted killings have increased in recent months.
