Taliban recruitment chief for Bamyan held
BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The Taliban’s recruitment chief for central Bamyan province has been arrested, police claimed on Wednesday.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Khudayaar Qudsi said the detainee, Muhammad Baqar Shujai, was responsible for recruiting fighters into Taliban ranks in the province. Shujai was an armed robber before joining the rebels.
Qudsi further said the arrested man had twice visited Pakistan in recent years and brought with him dozens of magnetic bombs, suicide jackets and other explosives to Bamyan. Further investigation into the matter was underway, he said.
